PRN Behavioral Specialist - Butler, PA 

Description

The hours for this PRN position may vary between 8 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday. Occasional weekend working may be requested.

Responsibilities include:

  • Design and oversee treatment plans for clients with autism spectrum disorders.
  • Promote and follow safe working practices and take the necessary actions to prevent injuries and illnesses to staff, clients, visitors, and volunteers.
  • Practice sound risk management to protect Lifesteps' mission, service recipients, staff, and volunteers.
  • Perform assigned tasks to insure continuous quality improvement.
  • Comply with responsibilities outlined in Lifesteps' Emergency Preparedness and Universal Precaution Plans.
  • Comply with confidentiality policies and procedures, including, but not limited to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
  • Report all incidents involving clients to the designated Agency Point Person by following Home & Community Services Information System (HCSIS) guidelines.
  • Obtain and maintain certification in Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI).
  • Obtain and maintain certification to pass medications when needed for clients in the Community Home.
  • Instruct staff on implementation of individualized client programs.
  • Monitor and ensure successful implementation of client programs.
  • Research and develop instructional activities.
  • Perform CPI techniques as outlined in client's specific behavioral plan.
  • Attend ISP and/or /Interdisciplinary Team meetings for assigned caseload.
  • Develop/Implement Program Activities.
  • Assess clients in assigned program upon admission and annually thereafter.
  • Develop ISPs in conjunction with other disciplinary team members.
  • Ensure implementation of ISP actions to achieve the client's identified outcomes.
  • Provide ongoing training and instruction to staff on the implementation of the ISP outcomes.
  •  Document monthly and quarterly progress and instruct direct care staff on the implementation of the plan, anticipated outcomes and other instruction activities pertinent to the plan.
  • Ensure required documentation and reports are completed accurately and timely.
  • Train staff on the documentation required for the clients daily progress and outcomes.
  • Review the documentation and complete the required monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
  • Ensure the time lines of reports meet all regulation requirements.
  • Coordinate efforts between parents/caregivers and professionals.
  • Perform first aid and CPR as required.
  • Evaluate information to determine compliance and comply with standards; 6400 regulations; Agency policies, procedures, and rules; and all other applicable regulations.
  • Conduct and/or coordinate ongoing training and guidance of all respective staff and with Supervisor, Community Home.
  • Attend psychiatric, psychological, and therapeutic appointments with Community Home staff when necessary.
  • Travel on business as required.
 
Position Requirements

Requirements for the position include:

Applicants must meet one of the following requirements:

  • Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Education or related field
  • Fully trained in Functional Behavioral Assessment 
  • Fully trained in positive behavioral support.
  • Have met training requirements to deal with autism spectrum disorders 

Must have a valid driver's license
