Vice President, Inside Sales

The Vice President of Sales oversees and manages an inside sales organization whose primary objective is to significantly grow the business within their assigned sales market. This position oversees their entire market which includes consulting and selling of products and/or services to maximize revenue and gross profit through planning and management of activities. Incumbent maintains effective communications with executives and managers across the organization to determine resource requirements and coordinate efforts across teams to leverage PCM capabilities.

This individual will manage inside sales organizations in Chicago and Milwaukee geos selling to clients across the entire Midwest. Individual will also manage a field sales force  Ideal candidate must have managed an inside sales operation and have history of success closing high-end data center solutions (virtualization, cloud, storage, mobility, security, etc). 

Essential Functions of the Job:

· Develop and direct activities to execute sales strategies and successfully achieve revenue and gross profit goals.


· Establish and implement short- and long-range goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures.


·  Lead and manage the Account Executives ("AE") and Sales Managers including directing sales efforts, performance managing resources to a specific sales quota, coaching, team building, goal setting, and professional development.


·  Develops, maintains and improves business relations with all clients and partners.


·  Coordinate sales operations with other departments/divisions within the company.


·  Directly manage major and critical developing client accounts, and coordinate the management of all other accounts.


·  Provide leadership for the day-to-day operations of the sales department


·  Analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of sales processes and systems.


·  Recruit, hire, manage and develop a world-class sales organization.


·  Provide leadership and direction in the development of the sales compensation structure, ensuring consistency and fairness throughout.

Supervisory Responsibilities


·  Responsible for the direction, coordination, and evaluation of inside sales teams within the sales market.


·  Implements objectives in accordance with the organization's policies and local applicable laws.


·  Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Position Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

·  Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; MBA is highly desirable; 5-7 years in sales management in a high-tech or service related industry.


·  Must have managed inside Account Executives, making outbound sales calls


·  Must have a strong knowledge of IT products and services; skilled directing Account Executives in closing data center business (ex. networking, storage, mobility, UCS, etc)


·  Can demonstrate a proven track record of consistently exceeding corporate objectives and quotas.


·  Can share examples of mentoring managers (who oversee day-to-day activities of Account Executives), resulting in higher revenue and GP attainment
