Symantec Business Development Manager

Job Summary: PCM is continuing to grow and is looking to add a Symantec Business Development Manager. The Business Development Manager will provide the highest levels of professionalism, market penetration, service, and solutions. This person will act as an in-house sales advocate and a resource to the PCM Sales Team.


Responsibilities:  As a Symantec BDM, you will be responsible for:

  • Gathering, reviewing, developing and distributing effective training material, outlines, FAQs, presentations and demonstrations.
  • Assisting with Symantec product line quotes and opportunities and responding directly to any sales force questions or concerns.
  • Responding to Symantec Bid Requests and help the Account Executives with every deal.
  • Encouraging and maintaining sales focus for Symantec product line specific goals for PCM.
  • Communicating all incentive programs to the sales community, ensuring that these programs are clear, understandable and effective.
  • Participating with Account Executives on conference calls with customers to ensure the offered solution meets the customer’s needs.
  • Identifying and resolving problems that present barriers to increased product-line Sales.
  • Tracking and reporting the progress of individual, significant deals.
  • Acting as a subject-matter expert to sales: explain product and market segment relationships, assist with individual opportunities.
  • Facilitating the partner connection to the necessary sales and technical support to effectively close outstanding deals.


Position Requirements


  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent IT Channel experience
  • Experience at a Value Added Reseller or Systems Integrator is preferred
  • Preferred Channel relationship management experience
  • Ability to execute, focus on results, strong teamwork skills, self-motivated and pro-active
  • Strong work-ethic and self-discipline
  • Strong Communication skills
  • Ability to do marketing, planning and execution of marketing activities 
  • An overall strong familiarity with technology and the Symantec Product Line is required.  
  • Required ability to sell with a consultative approach by understanding both manufacturing solutions and IT issues facing business customers.
  • This individual should also possess strong organizational, interpersonal and project management skills along with an attention to detail and deadlines.
  • This position is designed to bridge the gap between our sales force and the Symantec product line.
