Manage and own all financial tracking and reporting for Decision Support System Product Delivery.
Own the process to generate the monthly detailed financial spread sheets & PowerPoint.
Responsible for tracking operating plan, actual spend, commitments, and projections for all financial accounts pertaining to DSS.
Be able to report an accurate financial projection and commitment plan by expense and investment on a weekly basis.
Get access to client financial tools such as Cognos reporting to be able to extract data that finance is unable to provide due to time constraints or inability to see other ledgers.
Coordination with the DSS program managers to ensure financial commitments are accurate, and that any upcoming commitments or spend is being properly planned.
Work with the extended DSS team to ensure financial tracking best practices are being followed.
Budgetary tracking is required to determine the viability to meet the budgetary commitments. The deliverables will include the monthly tracking and reconciliation of the financials between operating plan (targets), commitments (whether paid or pending to be paid), and actual figures as extracted into Excel from the ledger.
Along with reconciliations, a scorecard summary will need to be created and maintained on a monthly basis to communicate our status.
Assist in creation of forecasts for budgets and evaluation of areas to pull back budget under-runs as well as over-runs using MS Excel.
Schedule tracking via our systems also needs attention to ensure that our communicated status is posted in a timely manner, and accurately for department metrics. The effort will also assist to close the gaps of data inaccuracies working with the project managers to address issues.
Audits of projects will be part of the on-going deliverables
Advise of reporting discrepancies, data issues, under-runs, over runs, etc.
Serve as project auditor and help remediate, as needed, the project deliverables as listed in the auditable tasks for each business.
This role will require interfacing with the IT process owners of the audits that include the IT Controller for auditable tasks and his contractors as well as the onshore and offshore project teams.
