Marketing Manager – Healthcare & Government

Job Summary:

  •  Responsible for the development of sales enhancing Marketing proposals and go-to-market strategies for vendors within assigned category resulting in the effective securing and consistent growth of  vendor co-op, MDF, accrual and volume rebates.
  • Develop effective marketing plans for assigned vendors through the incorporation of product marketing strategies targeting PCM customer segments.
  • Develop strong partnerships with vendors, identifying key contacts and resources within client organization for intensified marketing and funding opportunities
  • Blend available line card activities with customized, vendor specific activities and strategies to support vendor plan initiatives
  • Manage day-to-day marketing relationship, including maintaining product marketing plans, managing vendor coop/MDF and representing PCM in marketing related business meetings.
  • Understand marketing trends, product positioning, competitive landscape, end-user segments and market opportunities.
  • Achieve PCM category revenue goals
  • Demonstrate strong prospecting skills

Essential Functions:

Vendor Marketing – Account Management

  • Responsible for the development of sales driving Marketing proposals and go-to-market strategies for vendors within assigned category.
  • Assertively pursue vendor funding opportunities to current, inactive, and new vendors to build strong relationship and increase funding opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain marketing plans that incorporate vendor objectives, strategies and tactics and provide optimum revenue attainment for PCM.
  • Maintain strong understanding of PCM line card activities and present all appropriate opportunities that fit within the vendors’ marketing objectives.
  • Maintain close relationships with Product Marketing, Purchasing and Sales to ensure goal alignment, resource availability and effective plan implementation. 
  • Prepare quarterly ROI reporting for designated manufacturers.
  • Work with Product Marketing Manager to understand monthly sales data and trend information.
  • Provide Product Marketing Manager with marketing information needed to effectively implement program.
  • Work with Product Marketing to prepare presentation materials for vendor meetings when appropriate.

Program Development

  • Identify and develop vendor facing solution and product focused programs and campaigns within assigned category.
  • Work closely with Product Marketing to ensure effective customer targeting and program implementation.
  • Achieve revenue and profitability objectives.

Revenue Responsibility

  • Drive revenue goals, expenses and profit margins for assigned vendors and programs meeting or exceeding assigned monthly revenue objectives on a consistent basis
  • Maintain vendor pipeline within assigned category to provide continuous new revenue opportunities.
  • Maintain close scrutiny on all MDF/Coop and accruals to ensure absolute accuracy of revenue recognized and ensuring all capitalization of all available funding opportunities.
  • Provide weekly and monthly updates and forecasts on revenue trends, projected sales, and progress on vendor contracts.
  • Make recommendations on necessary changes to ensure department revenue goals are achieved. 
Position Requirements


  • 2+ years prior experience preferred in marketing to healthcare or government.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Proficiency in traditional and online marketing styles and an understanding of SEO/SEM marketing techniques preferred.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to understand and adapt to new technologies.
  • Ability to foster open, accessible and trusting relationships with staff members.
  • Solid quantitative analysis, organizational behavior and financial analysis skills.
  • Strong skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and related applications.
