Windchill Systems Administrator

Description We are seeking an experienced UNIX System Administrator to provide support for the WindChill application suite. WindChill helps engineers be more productive and efficient in creating, collaborating and managing all types of product-related content, whether defined in the different bills-of-materials or product structures, as it progresses through the product lifecycle. As the WindChill Administrator, you will provide administration, maintenance and troubleshooting of WindChill and its environments. If you have strong Unix Administrator experience, we will consider providing training on WindChill for the right candidate. Experience in engineering, manufacturing, or aerospace IT Product Lifecycle Management environments a plus.

This position is preferred to be located in Grand Rapids, Michigan or Cincinnati, Ohio.

Responsibilities:
Responsible for the administration and support of the WindChill environments.
Responsible as second level support for managing to completion service request tickets from ServiceNow (Incidents, SR's, Problem Tickets, CR/CTasks, etc.)
WindChill Performance and Availability Monitoring: clickstreams, robots & metrics, interface with P&A team
Provide WindChill Outage Communication
Participate in System Administration (SA) Weekly Rotations including weekends: for maintenance windows, Server Patches, WindChill build activities, etc.
Complete the Morning WindChill Health Check (make sure our application is good to go before business starts each day)
Lead proactive P&A Management: persistent, systematic & chronic issues. Control them, fix them, and stop them from causing performance and availability issues
Provide Project System Build Support: install, manage server/storage/database/apps for WindChill project work, backup/restore and cloning production environment
Provide PTC Case Resolution: own tough issues and facilitate/drive for PTC solutions
Manage, support and trouble-shoot replication servers.
 
Position Requirements Skill sets:
Strong UNIX System Administration required
Knowledge of WindChill application is definitely a plus
Good knowledge of Oracle DB, storage technology such as SAN, NetApp, etc.
Good knowledge of Windows servers, web/application servers & IDAP
Basic understanding of network, network security, load balancers, Firewalls, DMZ
Works well in a team environment
Strong customer service focus
Good communication skills
