Financial Management Specialist (Grants) 



The Financial Management Specialist will be responsible for reviewing high risk grants pursuant to the provisions of 45 CFR Part 74 and 92. depending on the type of organization involved.


  • The Financial Management Specialist will be responsible for conducting a financial capability review to determine an organization's capability for financial stewardship of Federal Funds.
  • Apply the working knowledge and experience with 45 CFR 74 and 92 and GAAP to evaluate the adequacy of financial management systems for prospective grantee organizations.
  • Ability to form a conclusion on the adequacy of an organization's financial system based on the timely and accurate evaluation of recent financial statements and organizational personnel and fiscal policies and procedures.
  • Reliance may be placed on he results of recent single audits of the organizations, if available and/or a detailed review.
  • Routinely interface with senior management and Grants Specialists regarding the status of financial systems reviews and when organizations are found to have significant deficiencies, and results documented.










Position Requirements Possess a degree in accounting or a degree in a related field like business administration, finance or public administration that uncluded or was supplemented by 24 semester hours of accounting
4 years in Federal grants accounting or auditing
Skilled in personal computers
Skilled in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point, Access)
Specialized skills in DHHS software
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Proven presentation skills
Full-Time/Part-Time Full-Time
