External Reporting Manager 

Description Reporting to the SEC Reporting Manager, responsible for the timely and accurate production, preparation and filing of the Company's SEC reports (10Qs, 10Ks, and 8Ks) and Earnings Releases in compliance with all SEC requirements, US GAAP, and Company policies and procedures. Manage a team of SEC Reporting Analysts; manage the development and interpretation of financial accounting policies and SEC requirements; and analyze and provide technical interpretation of accounting changes. This position will also be required to research and monitor financial data and work directly with contacts in Controllers and other business units within the Company to ensure reported data integrity.

Major Responsibilities:
Job scope: This job requires an experienced manager with deep knowledge of SEC reporting who will supervise, guide and train a team of professional accounting staff.

Responsible for producing and reviewing the Company's 10Qs, 10Ks, and Earnings Releases. Review supporting workpapers and ensure SEC Reporting Analysts produce clear and organized workpapers that adequately support the Company's filings and the internal/external audit process. Recommend and implement procedural changes to address issues and to ensure accuracy, completeness and timeliness of reporting. Manage detailed production timeline and oversee process of obtaining quarterly data and information from various departments within the client's site. Manage the process and relationship with the external vendor used for printing and XBRL services.

Provide on-going assistance and training on financial reporting issues to all levels and areas of the client's site, representing the SEC reporting team on assigned areas. Ensure financial reporting requirements are clearly communicated to the business units providing source data for the reports. Coordinate with other reporting groups (Regulatory Reporting and Parent Company reporting) to ensure that data collected and information provided is reported consistently across the Company.

Research and analyze US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements and other accounting documents related to the 10-K/Q. Research and review peer financial filings to ascertain best practices and perform benchmarking analysis. Review and analyze financial publications and regulatory pronouncements and rules to stay abreast of changes. Present analysis and recommendations to SEC Reporting Manager.

Responsible for directly supervising staff, including interviewing, hiring staff and the termination of staff; recommending salary changes, job promotions; setting work hours, conducting counseling /performance reviews, and planning of the staff ‘s work.

Coordinate the implementation of disclosures changes and the dissemination of information and procedures to impacted business partners. Work with the impacted business partners to clarify financial reporting

Position Requirements Education, Licensure, Experience:
Minimum 10-15 years related experience, including a minimum of 3 years of public accounting experience
Accounting or finance degree
CPA or Chartered Accountant certification is required
Banking industry experience is a plus

• Ability to work in cross functional teams
• Proficient in Microsoft suite of products – Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
