Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, work orders, or other records.
Uses utility knife to open or adjust cartons.
Affixes shipping label on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons.
Assembles wooden or cardboard containers or selects preassembled containers.
Construct and design special dimensioned pallets for certain products.
Inserts products into containers.
Nails covers on wooden crates and binds containers and secures product to pallets with steel banding. Operates shrink wrap machine to secure parts on pallets.
Uses packing tape dispenser, nailgun, and stretch film dispenser.
Affix identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containers.
Posts weights in shipping information in software to record shipments.
Unpacks and examines incoming shipments and damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
Routes items to departments.
Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.
Operates lift truck, handtruck, and overhead crane to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform or on or off of trucks to storage area.
