O'Neal Steel, Inc. one of the nation's largest metal service centers has an opening for a Warehouse Craft I - Metal Finisher. We are looking for highly motivated and hard working applicants that can also cover a wide range of job assignments that are involved in material handling and/or the operation of relatively unsophisticated processing equipment. Loads, unloads, and moves materials to work station. Performs metal finishing processes as required to remove oxides, burrs, or other undesireable defects from product. Follows work instructions, work orders, and print specifications. Assembles metal products such as hydraulic cylinder, depositories, and any other products which require assembly.You may also be assigned as helpers/operators on processing equipment performing single functions requiring relatively short periods of training.

Position Requirements

Ability to use a variety of hand tools such as: hammer, pliers, screwdriver, wrench, drill, grinder, bander.

Responsible for providing error-free work to all internal and external customers as related to the output of their position.

Ability to accurately read a tape measure.

Positions parts according to knowledge of unit being assembled or following prints. 

Fastens parts together with bolts, screws, speed clips, rivets, or other fasteners.

Reads work order, follows oral instructions, checks print specifications to perform necessary processes. 

Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand, fork truck, hoist, etc. 

Remove burrs from parts as required using various deburring tools.

Conveys materials from storage or work sites to designated area for processing.

Counts, weighs, and records number of units of materials moved or handled on work router.

Attaches identifying tag or labels to materials or marks information on boxes, pallets, or other containers.

Inspects workpiece for conformity to specifications.

Stacks or assembles materials into bundles and bands bundles together.

Cleans work area, machines, and equipment.

Examines and feels surface of workpiece for defects.

Records process used to run special set/ups on brown production packet and/or online GUI system

Operates forktruck to move raw material and finished product.

Cleans and organizes work area.
