Product Engineer - Roof Systems 


The Product Engineer is responsible for Application Engineering activities. Manage and maintain Inteva Roof Systems knowledge, standards, methodologies, best practices, procedures & tools. Responsibilities include (but not limited to):


  • Engineering Activities:
    • Sustaining and New Projects (depending on assignment)
    • Warranty tracking and issue resolution, ensures the proper lessons learned are established and documented
    • Application and Design responsible for roof systems products in regards to customer required changes, plant required changes, VA/VE, supplier changes, warranty field failures and supplier quality issues.
    • Responsible for all drawing changes, product testing and validation and product specific bills of materials.
  • Foster good communication with all the other Roof Systems Engineering teams in Europe (including the Centers of Expertise).
  • Promote good teamwork with Program Management, Sales & Marketing, Industrialization and Operations in accordance with the strategies developed by Roof Systems.
  • Obtain and understand the voice of each local Customer for Product Strategy and Customer Strategy (spoken and unspoken needs).
  • Ensure the robust application of bookshelf solutions in line with the product strategies of the Centers of Expertise
  • Attend and address product issues at customer sites.
  • Root cause Customer vehicle test issues.
  • Implement product changes at customer.
  • Attend Customer warranty reviews. Asses returned parts. Root cause returns for design and assembly issues. Implement design changes to address warranty.
  • Address Inteva plant or supplier issues. Support root cause analysis including testing of parts and validation of corrective action.
  • Support supplier changes or suppler re-sourcing by approving drawing changes if required, requesting pilot parts, completing validations plans, requesting testing and reporting test results including reporting results to customer.
  • Champion VA/VE events, asses cost reductions ideas, validate and implement design changes to reduce cost.


Position Requirements •Proficient in sunroof's mechanical systems or complex mechanical systems.
•Experience with implementation and application of GD&T standards.
•Plastics injection or metal transformation experience
•OEM knowledge and experience with regards to sunroof specifications and customer trends.
•3-5 years experience in Sunroofs and roof modules design engineering or mechanical systems.
•TS 16949 (or OE Quality System) familiarity


•Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline (mechanical, electrical, industrial, etc.)
Master's Degree preferred
