Marketing Manager 


Lead strategic guidance, tactical focus & support, discipline, inspiration and execution of customer marketing activities at designated account targets using a variety of solution tools to achieve financial goals.  Lead strategic planning activities & execution of aligned plans that identify channels, products, product forms and other opportunities for competitive & profitable positioning and growth of Griffith in the US marketplace.  Lead communication & incorporation of innovation technologies within select segments & accounts to drive company differentiation and achieve financial goals.  Lead the optimization of customer marketing activities and expertise to provide continuous differentiation aligned with company strategy.  Lead prospecting efforts of accounts to more effectively target "winning" companies who are in line with Griffith strategic plan focus & together with Sales align core competencies that drive customer value.  Manage life-cycle and lead commercialization of selected Product Categories / Technologies to capitalize business opportunities.  Succession Plan: person could be promoted to Senior Customer Marketing Manager / Marketing Director.


Position Requirements

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead strategic customer marketing activities and management of the customer marketing team to identify & execute customer value expectations, development of relationships, execution of research, plan developments, presentation preparation & other account specific documents to achieve account business goals (includes National & Field accounts).
  • Manages, assesses, analyzes, and synthesizes customer (including prospect), consumer, category, and competitive insights and applies learnings to augment the knowledge & success (increased revenue, profitability) of assigned customer-base and/or overall commercial teams.  This is accomplished through development & communication  of presentations, other communication pieces, etc.
  • Leads development and execution of presentations (including but not limited to:  Capabilities, market trends, consumer insight, NP intros, etc.) to customers in a professional manner based on their needs and account plans.
  • Supports overall account team to achieve fiscal financial targets in top line sales and profit within assigned commercial team or assigned accounts.  This is executed through involvement with pricing of products and overall strategic involvement in developing, with Pricing & Sales leadership the desired financial targets for the account.
  • Executes and champions the commercial process and workflow in collaboration with other functional commercial team members.
  • Builds marketing-to-marketing relationships within customer-base of assigned commercial team.
  • Leads the development & execution of targeted market categories/channels & product plans/programs & processes allowing for more effective penetration and successful positioning of existing & new targeted marketing channels (e.g. retail, distributors, liquids, etc.).
  • Work in collaboration with sales to develop the optimal prospecting lists (driven by channel/program reviews) and collaborate to develop positioning plans & activities at these potential accounts.
  • Works in partnership with innovation leaders/team to identify opportunities for technology application at accounts and develop in collaboration with team "Go to Market" requirements & final positioning / communication at specific accounts.
  • Leads the identification, planning, management & commercialization, in collaboration with the culinary team and other support functions, of product programs that highlight Griffith capabilities & excellence in market insight and application to customer needs (e.g. Culinary Programs).
  • Responsible for continually monitoring the success of all channel, product & prospecting activities and use learning’s to improve processes & actions.
  • Consistently evaluating, identifying and developing rationale to optimize customer marketing capabilities to drive further differentiation in the marketplace & with customers.
  • Be a role model for the company culture.


  • College degree; BA or BS


  • Average of 6 years professional/full-time experience, marketing consumer packaged goods and/or marketing within food industry (B2B/B2C)
  • Highly skilled in use of PowerPoint, Excel, Word and other commonly used computer programs.
  • The employee must have excellent oral & written communication skills
