Mortgage Loan Development Sales Specialist

NEFCU is presently recruiting for a Mortgage Loan Development Specialist.  The primary responsibility is to assist in developing the Credit Union’s residential mortgage loan portfolio by cultivating relationships. This will be executed by ‘partnering’ with local area Real Estate Brokers and Centers of Influence (COI’s) to establish lending opportunity referral scenarios and setting up member appointments to discuss mortgage related borrowing needs, attending in Open Houses, Civic Meetings, Industry related seminars and meetings (NEFCU First Time Homebuyer for example) and Webinars.
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Originate residential mortgage loans and solicit residential first mortgages through contacts (such as realtors, builders, developers, accountants, financial planners and attorneys.
  • Interview applicants to develop information concerning their financial needs to ensure their request consists of the correct product and terms that will enable them to achieve their financial goals. 
  • Obtain and analyze pertinent financial data belonging to the Member to ensure it is complete and will meet NEFCU’s policy and secondary market requirements
  • Remain the primary contact with the Member throughout the application process.  Including updating them on status and obtaining any additional documents or information requested by the processor or underwriter working the file.  .
  • Deliver initial disclosures to applicants as well as any additional documentation; attend closings whenever possible.
 
Position Requirements
  • Associates degree along with a minimum of three years of experience in real estate lending in a sales capacity.
  • Knowledge of Fannie Mae DU, loan processing required and pricing, VA, FHA and equity financing. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills a must. 
  • Results driven, Marketplace contacts such as real estate brokers and COI’s are necessary. 
  • Bilingual is a plus.
  • Must be a registered mortgage loan originator with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS).
