Web Producer/Web Product Owner 


The Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM), an internationally recognized presenter of contemporary performing arts and cinema, to  manage customer-facing web production projects from business analysis to product release by employing project management expertise and functioning as Product Owner within an agile (SCRUM framework) development team.

The Web Producer / Web Product Owner is a critical member our cross-functional web team and reports into the Digital Media Department within the Marketing and Communications Division (responsible for the Product Management/Ownership of all customer-facing digital media vehicles) and works daily with our cross- functional Web Production team including stakeholders, web developers,technology strategists and interactive designers.


• Collaborate with marketing, fundraising and curatorial business units to develop requirements and success criteria for customer-facing digital projects.
• Strategically manage prioritized backlog of customer-facing development projects in partnership with the technical team, marketing, business stakeholders, and upper management. 
• Participate in daily SCRUM meetings with the web team to discuss status and communicate nuances of user stories, business logic, success criteria, and prioritization.
• Coordinate QA testing during the iterative development process and prior to product launch.
• Manage and elevate support-level tasks within the project-level SCRUM process.
• Conduct quarterly meetings with stakeholders throughout the organization to inform project backlog prioritization
• Create RFPs, hire and manage vendors for outsourced digital projects.
• Collaborate with Digital Media Director, IT Director, Development Manager, and Scrum Master on development strategy for digital products
• Collaboration with Tessitura Manager/Product owner on overall development backlog (includes web projects in addition to Tessitura projects and backend business development projects)
• Create business intelligence around digital properties by use of web analytics tools, customer research (usability, surveys) and best-practices research.

Position Requirements


• Bachelors degree required.
• Digital product owner / product management / project manager experience in cross-device web development (5+ years)
• Experience as a project lead in collaboration with clients, IT and Design teams
• Strong, confident and authoritative communications capabilities:
o Verbal: The ability to communicate at all levels from executives and team members with little technical background to developers with deep technical knowledge
o Written: The ability to write User Stories within Agile software, as well as clear written communications for internal stakeholders and customers.
• Web analysis and testing skills (Google Analytics background preferred)
• Understanding of information architecture and user experience design
• Knowledge of and experience with CRM systems and databases
• Strong understanding of web usage trends
• Passion for BAM, the performing arts, and the cultural community at large
