Cook - Mental Health Worker/Case Manager 


Responsibilities include providing coverage for various shifts and providing direct client care to include:

Cooking: Plans, prepares and serves meals, while providing a well-balanced diet sufficient in quality, quantity and variety to meet nutritional needs of the clients.  Keeps kitchen and related areas clean and well organized in accordance with schedules documented in policy and procedures and the WAC requirements.  Ensures that kitchen equipment is clean and functioning properly and ensures proper storage of food items. Maintains records of menus, recipes, special diets, food orders, number of meal served and other records to assure the smooth operation of the kitchen.

Assisting with Activities of Daily Living: Assists residents with transportation, laundry, room cleaning, and personal hygiene.

Behavioral Cueing: Reminds residents to complete activities of daily living as listed above.

Medication Observation/Symptom & Medication Response Monitoring: Observes medication self administration; documents ongoing assessment of client symptoms and their response to prescribed medications; support and education to encourage clients to take medications as prescribed; promotes illness self-management skills; and monitors medication side effects and communicates with medical staff as needed.

Documentation: Progress notes are completed according to agency's guidelines, policies and procedures regarding format, content and timeliness. Documents daily contact with residents in log provided for staff communication and updates oncoming staff on resident's progress at shift change.

Cleaning: Maintains the cleanliness of the residential facilities. Cleaning duties include sweeping, mopping, dusting, wiping walls, washing windows, wiping countertops, cleaning dining and kitchen areas, and cleaning and disinfecting bathrooms.

Crisis Stabilization: Stabilizes crisis situations by engaging appropriate services to maintain the least restrictive environment possible for residents, while assuring the safety and well being of others residing in the facility. Develops and documents appropriate safety plan.

Resident Activities: Organizes and engages residents in activities, both individual and group, to encourage participation in productive and therapeutic activities.

All residential programs are co-ed and operate 24 hours a day

Pathways ARTF - Yakima
Pathways is a co-occurring sixteen bed facility that serves residents who have both a mental health and chemical dependency diagnosis.  Professional staff provide treatment groups and individual therapy focusing on stabilization and recovery.


Position Requirements

Education/Experience: Associate's degree or equivalent and one year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Credentials: Eligible for Washington State Agency Affiliated Counselor Registration

Other Credentials Required: First Aid/CPR Certification, Food Handler's Permit, Driver's License, Vehicle Liability Insurance
