YMCo Marketing Coordinator- Broad Market 


Position Statement: To maximize the sale of supplier brands to the trade through effective marketing via brand promotion and communication that permits achievement of company and supplier objectives.


Key Responsibilities



Marketing Coordinators are expected help create systems that track and organize information for the Broad Market Division such as:


  • Create and maintain monthly calendars for all Broad Market events in Western Washington i.e. Spirit promotions, wine tastings, wine dinners, key account events and ambassador visits.
  • Help coordinate and organize all company trainings, i.e. CSW, CSS, Court of Master Sommeliers, Ambassador trainings.  Create, track and maintain all employee training records. 
  • Coordinate and track all new employee on- boarding and training schedules.  Responsible for 30, 60 and 90 day employee evaluations and training schedules.
  • Manage and update all Broad Market budget information such as samples and expense budgets. Help coordinate supplier billbacks.
  • Coordinate supplier incentive recaps on menus and other major supplier recaps.
  • Track all Broad Market employee vacations and sick days.

Brand Promotion


Marketing Coordinators are expected to promote brands and increase brand awareness within their accounts by:


  • Create effect hot sheets that help increase focus on company directives and key initiatives.
  • Increasing brand visibility and maximizing point of sale opportunities.
  • Manage allocation processes and effectively communicate with the field.
  • Building effective relationships with all decision makers in trade and supplier partners.
  • Help manage and maintain the various supplier target/ image lists as well as sending timely and accurate updates.
  • Tracking key POS items such as chiller machines, targeted drink nights, and other heavy investment initiatives.




Marketing Coordinators are expected to serve as information resources for, and conduits between, the field and the company’s management by:


  • Communicating issues, opportunities and market intelligence with appropriate management through written, electronic and verbal means.
  • Creating reports that gather needed information and disseminating it to the field.
  • Updating lost brands/ lost business reports and communicating results to the field.
  • Ensuring price changes are being communicated to accounts by developing account lists for notification.


Job Specific Competencies


Sales Tasks & Activities: Knowledge of processes, tools, techniques and theory behind selling the organization’s products or services.


Knowledge of Customers & Sales Channel: Knowledge of on- premise business operations and ability to coordinate multiple and diverse options for selling the organization’s products and services to each. Ability to create and analyze sales reports that communicate valuable information to the field.


Knowledge of Product Line: Knowledge of specific products and associated development process and strategy.

A good understanding of what products fit where.




Qualified Candidates should possess:


  • 1+ years of on- premise sales experience in the beverage alcohol industry
  • Good project management and execution skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as with a team
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills
  • Prior experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office environment
  • Proven abilities to develop selling and promotion strategies targeted to enhance wine and spirit sales within an account
  • Proven track record of successful selling
  • Ability to work with management, colleagues, and customers throughout the business and industry at every level
