District Manager- Off Premise 

  1. Accomplish sales and distribution goals by executing the monthly, quarterly and annual business objectives and company initiatives.
  2. Manage inventory expenses in accordance with company policy.
  3. Administer, educate and train employees to ensure the execution of company goals and priorities.
  4. Maintain a high level of industry knowledge: beer, non-alcoholic, food journals, trends, market share, etc.
  5. Utilize Columbia University for Professional Education (CUPE) courses to improve personal and team effectiveness.
  6. Submit all required reporting, preplans, trackers, surveys, market surveys (MVPs), expense report, mileage log, etc.
  7. Monitor competitive activity and communicate strategies.
  8. Interact respectfully and maintain dialog with inter-company departments, suppliers, and customers.
  9. Create reset opportunities and develop retail promotions appropriate to customer base.
  10. Effectively sell, rotate and merchandise the Columbia Distributing portfolio in all assigned accounts.
  11. Have a thorough knowledge of all decision makers in each account.
  12. Manage promotions and distribution in assigned accounts monthly as required.
  13. Minimum visibility in all accounts needs to be equal to or greater than competition.
  14. Grow net core brand distribution over baseline throughout the year.
  15. Minimum MVP standards in eighty percent (80%) of accounts surveyed.
  16.  Above MVP standards in twenty percent (20%) of accounts surveyed.
  17. Adhere to all state liquor laws and regulations.
  18. Recruit, train, supervise and evaluate department staff.
  19. Complete all other tasks or projects as assigned.
  20. Demonstrate behaviors consistent with those of the Company’s Core Values at all times.

Position Requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

Education/Training:  Bachelor’s degree; High School diploma or GED required

Licenses/Certifications:  Valid driver’s license and auto insurance required; Sales Fundamental (which includes Certified Sales Professional-CSP training and certification) required upon hiring

Experience:  Minimum three (3) years previous sales experience; Minimum three (3) years prior beverage industry experience; Minimum one (1) year supervisory experience

Knowledge/Skill:  General knowledge of industry products; Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite; Experience with an AS400 system; Excellent oral and written communication skills; Bilingual preferred; Effective organizational and time management skills; Ability to develop strong relationships with internal and external customers; Ability to draft and deliver sales presentations; Familiarity with trade math and equipment


Physical Requirements:

1.  Lift, carry, push, pull up to 165 lbs.

2.  Use arms, wrists, hands, grasp

3.  Proficient in the use of industry tools including hand truck, six wheeler, manual pallet jack, box cutter, etc.
