Position Summary:

The Data Technician will be responsible for collecting, digitizing, extracting, and cleaning data.  The Data Technician will also be responsible for organizing and maintaining databases, data tables, spreadsheets, shared files and folders.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Assists in the development of protocols for the collection and storage of data.
  • Manually enters clinical, business, and development data for storage and analysis.  Conducts online research and extracts data from internal and external sources, digitizes and stores results in databases, data tables, spreadsheets, data repositories, and annotated libraries of links.
  • Creates professional quality outputs, including reports, tables, and graphics, for executive decision-making and presentation.
  • Organizes and maintains shared folders and files that facilitate access to stored outputs.
  • Assists with a wide range of additional data handling and analysis tasks as skills and experience allow.
Position Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Qualifications:

  • Completion of a two-year scientific or technical degree is preferred, but not required. Completion of formalized training courses in Excel, database management, data handling, computer programming, programming logic, SQL, etc. will be considered favorably.
  • Experience with any combination of CSS, HSQL, HTMA, JavaScript, SQL, VB.NET, XHTML, XM.
  • One to three years related work experience is required. A combination of part-time, temporary, and internship positions may count toward the experience requirement.
  • Must be highly focused with exemplary attention to detail. Must be comfortable and happy staying focused on tasks for long periods of time; must be comfortable following repetitive, structured processes. Must be proactive and willing to assume ownership of tasks, taking responsibility for the development and improvement of processes.
  • General computer skills, including the ability to use Internet Explorer, online search engines, email and Microsoft Excel, are required.
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills. Mastery of the English language is required for this position. Candidates will be required to submit samples of written communications.
