Description

SUMMARY
A high energy self-motivated medical sales professional to manage our territory in Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, and Iowa to sell medical equipment through distribution to physicians, community health care centers, hospitals, government facilities, and retail establishments by performing the following duties.

Candidate must reside in Kansas City.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Calls on distribution customers and develops dealer relationships.
  • Present, demonstrate, and sell exam room equipment, devices, casework, and services.
  • Travels through assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders, or talks with customers by phone and email.
  • Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from newspapers, business directories, industry ads, trade shows, Internet Web sites, and other sources.
  • Studies data describing new products to develop sales approach.
  • Compiles data on equipment and supplies preferred by customers.
  • Advises customers of equipment for given need based on technical knowledge of products.
  • Provides customers with advice in such areas as office layout, legal and insurance regulations, and cost analysis to develop goodwill and promote sales.
  • Quotes prices and prepares sales contracts for orders obtained.
  • Estimates date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of own firm's production and delivery schedules.
  • Prepares reports of business transactions and keeps expense accounts.
  • Investigates and resolves customer problems with deliveries.
  • Attends tradeshows.
  • Trains dealers on how to sell and in-service products.
  • Trains customers on how to correctly use products.
  • Must develop and maintain relationships with distributors and end users.
  • Individual must be an expert in product knowledge and sales technique.
  • Must demonstrate Product features and benefits.

Travel: Frequent; 2-3 overnight stays per week


 

 
Position Requirements

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree from a college or university and 1-2 years business-to-business sales experience preferred.

PREFERRED QUALIFIED CANDIDATES TO HAVE THE FOLLOWING:

  • Be able to lift and maneuver exam/procedure tables to demonstrate for customers.
  • Proficient with Outlook, Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint, Internet Explorer, iPad/apps, CRM, and other computer-based tools and software.
