Morpho Detection Inc. is seeking a release engineer who has experience in the software lifecycle and is looking to build a career in the field. Join our Engineering group as the engineer responsible for release management on the Software team. As a release engineer, you will be working with members of various teams to produce a well controlled, quality product.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for ongoing software Builds, continuous integration and automated regressions of multiple products and on multiple versions.
  • Must provide tools to measure the product quality during its lifecycle. Tools such as defect metrics, product dashboard, regression dashboard etc.

Automation focused responsibilities

  • Is responsible for continuous integration of builds for various applications using third-party packages like Hudson.
  • Provides automated reporting of defects, metrics, updates, escalations.
  • Champions process improvement/Automation initiatives for Configuration Management.
Position Requirements


  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.

  • At least 2 years of experience with managing version control systems, bug tracking systems including security.

  • Comfortable with software release deliverables including release naming, branching, tagging, documentation.

  • Familiarity with continuous integration packages like Hudson.

  • Good scripting skills in python and on Linux.

  • Familiarity with programming languages, build systems (make/cmake/visual studio), packaging tools (RPM, InstallShield) .

Eligibility Requirements:

Desired Characteristics:

  • Ability and willingness to learn quickly.

  • Knowledge of web technologies - web servers(apache), databases(postgres, sqlite), wikis

  • Strong communication skills.

  • Familiarity with cloud based services for release management.

  • Knowledge of subversion, trac is a plus.
