Description

Seeking entry level or early-mid level candidates to be responsible for the execution and continuous improvement of the planning process for one or several product lines covering both demand planning and order fulfillment as well as supply planning and materials replenishment. This position is designed to be the beginning of successful career in Operations Management. Example of Demand planning & Order Fulfillment Responsibilities:

  • Manages order backlog after order entry ensuring that orders flow through the order fulfillment cycle quickly
  • Validates order configuration, Maintains and communicates order delivery dates
  • Plans production in partnership with the Manufacturing team
  • Plans the logistics aspects of an order in partnership with the distribution and logistics team
  • Releases orders to the pick/pack/ship process in compliance with international trade controls and contracts terms & conditions
  • Tracks remittance of goods to the customer
  • Responsible for driving on-time delivery to the customer
  • Partners with other functions (Manufacturing, Engineering, Finance) to resolve/escalate any issues preventing on-time order fulfillment (Credit approvals, Export Authorizations, Regulatory Approvals, etc…)
  • Partners with finance to monitor accurate revenue recognition on assigned orders
  • Proactively identify and help implement enhancements to order management processes and tools to support a positive customer experience, streamline order processing, and provide scalable solutions

Examples of Supply planning and Materials replenishment responsibilities:

  • Defines appropriate inventory planning method for each part.
  • Executes planning process, creates purchase orders and communicates with suppliers
  • Daily review and resolution of Material Shortages
  • Daily review of open purchase orders, expedites past due orders, obtains supplier promise dates
  • Ensure materials is available on-time while at the same time minimizes inventory.
  • Maintains planning parameters accuracy in the MRP system
  • Drives improvement in supplier on-time delivery

  • Customer On-time Delivery
  • Supplier On-Time Delivery
  • Material on-time delivery
  • Inventory balance and turns

Independence/Discretion:

  • Degree of supervision required:  Minimal
  • Average degree of autonomy: Possesses the inherent authority to represent and make commitments internally on behalf of the  Materials Group ;externally, possess delegated Purchasing Authority subject to the guidelines of the company ‘s purchasing policy and procedures.
  • Business Impact of erroneous decisions: Moderate to Severe impact on business-manifesting in higher material costs or missed revenue
 

Position Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Four year engineering (industrial or manufacturing) degree or business degree
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; Power Point; Microsoft Word

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be willing to work out of an office in  Newark, CA
  • If recent college graduate, need GPA greater than or equal to 3.0/4.0
  • Willingness to travel for work and training (up to 10%)

  • You must be willing to submit to a background investigation as part of the selection process.
  • Must be a US Citizen
