The Government Compliance Senior Analyst is responsible for business processes and controls necessary to comply with US Government regulations and procedures related to cost accounting. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee/Prepare forward pricing rates, incurred cost submissions, cost impacts resulting from accounting changes, advance agreements, as appropriate.
  • Establish and monitor processes and controls necessary to comply with all government regulations and procedures related to business cost practices
  • Interpret and maintain current knowledge of all government cost regulations (Federal Acquisition Regulations, Truth in Negotiations Act, Service Contract Act, et al) and cost accounting standards (CAS). Ensure that MDI’s accounting routines and cost practices that affect government business meet all standards of compliance for contract cost and pricing and related financial reporting
  • Maintain effective and constructive relationships with government customers and representatives
  • Work closely with government contracts, proposals and billing organizations to ensure compliance. Also work with and mentor broader Finance organization to ensure general understanding of government requirement and need for compliance
  •  Provide government accounting support to other affiliated businesses and entities as required. Interface with MDI Corporate and other MDI businesses on issues of government accounting
  • Experience in implementing compliance programs including developing policies and procedures regarding DCAA system audits, overall allowability and allocability governance.


Position Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance from accredited college/university.
  • Must have a government accounting background and working knowledge of FAR and CAS regulations.
  • Must have at least 7 years of private industry finance experience, preferably with an organization working on CAS covered government contracts
  • Must have at least 5 years of experience interacting with various levels of management and interfacing with auditors such as DCAA, internal auditors and government contracting officers.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be willing to work out of an office in Newark, CA, Andover, MA or Santa Ana, CA

Desired Characteristics:

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics AX
  • CPA or MBA preferred
  • Able to anticipate, identify, analyze and resolve complex financial issues.
  • Strong oral and written communications skills.
  • Extensive Knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to interact and influence effectively with all levels of the organization and across businesses.
