Description

The Marketing Arm is looking for an Account Planner to support Senior Planners across consumer packaged goods brands for two fortune 500 companies in our Dallas office. The Account Planner will support Senior Planners in delivering insightful promotions strategy and bringing consumer insights to life through primary and secondary research to support the creation of business action and promotional ideas that resolve client business problems.  The successful candidate will be an insightful analyst/researcher, an excellent communicator with empathy for brand/communications and strategy, a well organized team player, comfortable with his/her "homebase" as a business/research analyst and has the ability to brainstorm viable "left brain" creative solutions to business problems.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Interrogate research & market data, extract insights and communicate internally and to the client
  • May undertake secondary and primary research for projects
  • Collaborates with internal account service & creative management team to provide problem specific solutions
  • Write shopper marketing creative briefs as the primary drivers for marketing program creation
  • Undertake day-to-day client contact with presentation and project management responsibility
  • Write appropriate summaries and presentations of business problem and business solution based on insights
  • Will work closely with client insights and marketing personnel
  • Utilizes multiple business reporting interfaces to provide up to date analysis on key business issues/needs

 

Attributes & Capabilities:

  • Utilizes understanding of product assortment, price, placement, and promotion as business analysis skills to ascertain business problems and solutions
  • Utilizes market measurement data from IRI, panel data, loyalty card and other typical CPG category management datasets to determine and/or verify business problems from the client
  • Serves as a subject matter expert with syndicated scan data, shopper insights, and panel data
  • Brings shopper insights to life through primary and secondary research to support the creation of business action and promotional ideas that resolve client business problems   
  • Is intellectually curious and has a drive for the hidden answer to problems/questions
  • Is a strategic thinker who has honed their sparkling creativity with excellent project management skills
  • Is articulate with good presentation skills
 
Position Requirements

 

  • 3-5 years total experience in either CPG Shopper Insights, Strategy Consulting or Account Planning at a retail marketing agency
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 2-3 years marketing research experience with a focus on developing methodologies, managing research/research vendors and data analysis
  • Experience with syndicated data sources ( Nielsen or IRI scanner) as well as household panel resources
  • Resourceful investigator of the business “truth” by finding insights/data in unconventional ways via unconventional resources
  • The role is based in our Dallas office with limited local travel for meetings
