The Loader/Packager is primarily responsible for inspecting, unloading from line and packaging parts per internal specifications. They work with other line associates to improve line efficiencies by working safe, having good attendance, keeping a clean and orderly work area and reducing rework and customer returns.
- Remove coated parts from hanging racks.
- Stack on pallets according to specifications.
- Inspect and perform quality checks.
- Remove completed skids via forklift.
- Use computer to create bar code labels and close jobs.
- Perform additional duties as needed.
The duties of this job are regularly performed indoors. The associate is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to fingers, reach with hands and arms. The associate frequently is required to stoop, kneel or crouch. The associate must frequently lift up to 50 pounds and move with pneumatic hoists castings up to 600 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus and good hand/eye coordination.
The duties of this job are regularly performed indoors. While performing the duties of this job, the associate is occasionally exposed to heat, dust, fumes, airborne particles and moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Required Personal Protective Equipment includes: hearing protection, burn resistant sleeves, gloves, safety glasses and steel-toed boots.
This position generally requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Also, the ability to read and interpret documents and the ability to pass a written and driving test to operate a forklift. Add and subtract two-digit numbers and be able to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Critical skills include: attention to detail, communication skills, initiative, continuous improvement, and adaptability.
