Business Configuration Analyst 


Description

Overall Responsibility:

Responsible for configuring software systems to support company business needs.  This includes reviewing and understanding business requirements, as well as consulting with users as needed to gather additional detailed business requirements.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Completes system configurations, including documentation and unit testing.
  • Prepares or participates in the preparation of design specifications necessary to complete configurations.
  • Understands system and operational requirements, downstream system impacts, and legal compliance obligations.
  • Performs quality assurance checks of the software by participating in peer reviews of the configurations developed.
  • Contributes to the development of test plans for project releases.
  • Assists with implementation of software, including user training on use of the system.
  • Complies with and recommends changes in development, maintenance, and system standards.
  • Understands the regulatory nature of insurance.
  • Identifies options for improving efficiencies of the business systems used to support configurations.
  • May be required to serve as liaison between user groups and IT staff.
  • Some travel may be required. (10%)
 

Position Requirements

Required Experience:

  • 3 – 5 years of Property/Casualty Insurance experience required.
  • 2 or more years of requirements gathering experience required.

Preferred Experience:

  • Commercial lines Property/Casualty Insurance experience preferred.

Education/Skills:

  • College graduate or equivalent experience.
  • Possesses team oriented experience and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrates strong communication and customer service skills. 
  • Prefers working in a cooperative and collaborative environment.
  • Requires ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Requires ability to work independently to complete configuration changes in the toolset.
  • Has experience in developing functional requirements and design specifications for supporting those functions.
  • Demonstrates solid understanding of the software development lifecycle.
  • Enjoys working in a fast-paced environment that supports monthly and/or bi-monthly software releases.
     
 

Full-Time/Part-Time Full-Time
