Description

Overall Responsibility:

Design, communicate and advocate user experience concepts for new and existing products and features that can be applied to WRBC initiatives, by creating and refining visual designs, interaction designs and iconography as well as site architecture, wireframes and task flows.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Work with WRBC companies, business analysts, technical staff, and project team members to plan, design, develop, implement and enhance the user experience of applications
  • Identify industry best practices for user experience and ensure that they are leveraged throughout organization to address business and user goals
  • Develop, maintain and improve user interface design to ensure that WRBC is setting industry standards for excellence
  • Identify gaps in existing systems end-to-end user experience
  • Continuously improve design processes and tools to measurably enhance productivity or product quality
  • Develop and support reusable interface concepts as part of the BTS Source Forge (language agnostic component suite)
  • Validate designs through usability surveys and direct interaction with users, product managers and testing
  • Travel less than 25%
 

Position Requirements

Required Experience:

  • 5+ Years designing, executing and advocating user experience principles/methodologies
  • 5+ Years sketching, wire-framing and mockup creation
  • Consulted and effectively communicated recommended changes to existing legacy applications
  • Translated business requirements into a successful user interface design
  • Demonstrated portfolio showing both design and development skill

Preferred Experience:

  • Understanding of development concepts, toolkits and processes
  • Exposure to Adobe Create Suite products, Balsamiq and/or related open source toolkits
  • Has performed contextual inquiries on user groups, developed personas, analyzed tasks and created scenarios as part of the requirements gathering process
  • Work experience spans multiple domains
  • Exposure to Agile Scrum SDL

Education/Skills:

  • Bachelor’s  in Computer Science, Cognitive Science, Human Computer Interaction, Graphic Design or equivalent  and five years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Desire to participate in internal training and blogs, contributing to the UX practice
  • Excellent creative and innovative thinking skills
  • Must be able to work in a team oriented environment
  • Excellent communication skills with strong customer service commitment
  • Strong time management and development methodology skills
  • Ability to quickly learn new technology and systems
  • Ability to work independently in an autonomous environment
 

Full-Time/Part-Time Full-Time
