OBJECTIVE:Professionally represents D&W in promoting, selling and supporting diesel engine and tank truck products to the selected market base. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:Product Knowledge Knowledge of all aspects of D&W diesel engine and tank truck products including but not limited to sales, product changes, product promotions, and pricing. Knowledge of establishing target markets as it relates to product lines. Know how to continually seek and develop new customers, and work to match existing customers with new products.Customer RelationsEstablishes friendly business and personal relationships with customers. Ensures all promises made to a customer are lived up to or that the customer is advised of any necessary changes in schedule before the original deadline. Is able to settle warranty situations promptly to the mutual satisfaction of the customer and the company.Customer and Market KnowledgeKnows and understands customers' business as it relates to possible product matches. Has an awareness of the competition's products, pricing, and availability. Develops a high level of awareness of D&W’s product offering and pricing. Is responsible for suggesting customer pricing and advising Branch Manager on pricing issues.Selling Skills Learns and employs professional selling techniques. Continually seeks and develops new customers. Develops assigned territory to reach full potential for diesel engine and tank truck products. Works to match existing customers with new products. Meets or exceeds sales and gross margin goals.Company Knowledge Knows where to access information to help solve a customer’s problem. Understands and follows company policies and procedures. Reads all memos as they relate to sales, products and company policies. Attends and participates in classes, meetings, blitzes, workshops and factory fieldwork.Reporting and Paperwork Promptly and accurately completes all paperwork including quotes, warranties, call reports, exchange sheets, delivery tickets or packing slips. Provides itinerary for upcoming week and call report for preceding week to the appropriate Branch Manager in the required time frame.Advises Branch Manager of all major issues and out of ordinary sales opportunities. Advises Branch Manager on product inventory and new avenues of potential industrial sales.General Responsibilities Must have a valid driver’s license and provide a vehicle for sales calls and deliveries. Follows credit and collections policies and assists with collections as requested.Must be ethical in all job related activities.
QUALIFICATIONS Experience: 2-5 years of successful experience outside sales experienceSkills/AptitudeStrong time management skills and effective oral and written communication skills. Must be ethical in all job related activities. Establish and maintain relationships with vendors. Requires the ability to meet deadlines, so a flexible schedule is required.Level: Position works under general supervision within company policies. Employee exercises a high degree of discretion and independent judgment in the performance of daily routines. Employee is expected to provide counsel to senior management in areas of personal expertise.Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds.
