MBA Interns - Tulsa Innovation Labs LLC

Description

Background

Tulsa Innovation Labs LLC (TIL) is a tech-led economic and workforce development organization headquartered in Tulsa, OK, and pioneered by George Kaiser Family Foundation. TIL develops strategies and deploys capital to catalyze inclusive economic growth in four emerging tech industries - virtual health, energy tech, advanced aerial mobility, and cybersecurity & analytics. Through public-private-partnerships, the company supports the launch and growth of new startups, fosters academic innovation, and builds talent programs to support Tulsa’s economic development.

TIL values diversity – in backgrounds and in experiences. We are deliberate and self-reflective about the team and culture we are building and seek candidates that are not only strong in their own aptitudes but care deeply about supporting each other’s growth.

Job Purpose

Tulsa Innovation Labs is looking for two interns to join the TIL team to support the development of its Cyber & Analytics and Advanced Mobility portfolios, respectively. The intern(s) will work directly with the Portfolio lead for either Cyber or Advanced Mobility to support the planning and launch of new programs, which include startup support services, venture capital funds, corporate innovation programs, and academic innovation and IP commercialization endeavors.

TIL does not view Business School interns as traditional internships or entry level experiences. The expectations and responsibilities are both higher, and, we think, more rewarding. Candidates would be a trusted strategic advisor to both TIL and our core partners.

The internship will focus on targeted consulting and some operational responsibilities for major portfolio initiatives. The exact duties will depend on the specific initiative lifecycle, but could include R&D, initiative design, partnership development and engagement, capital strategy, initial hiring, and/or oversight and operations. The internship experience can and should be tailored to the individual skills and preferences of the candidate.

The intern will also support TIL’s thought leadership activities, including conducting research for white papers, blog posts, and relevant events.

The internship will not require deep subject matter expertise, but rather focus on strategic design and targeted engagement in support of the Portfolio lead. However, interest in emerging technology, especially in cyber and/or future mobility, is important for the role.
