Ricardo Defense Inc. has an opening for a talented Software Documentation and Training Specialist to join our rapidly growing team in our office in California, MD. This Software Documentation and Training Specialist will work with a team to develop and revise documentation for our customized applications to improve user onboarding and operating experience. The Software Documentation and Training Specialist will also lead the training of our customer’s deployment and sustainment team so they are proficient in new and modified capabilities.
What You Will Do:
This Software Documentation and Training Specialist will be responsible for the overall quality of all installation, administration, and user documentation tailored and customized for each product customer. Documentation may include written word, presentations, and/or video vignettes. The Software Documentation and Training Specialist schedules and performs training of our customer’s software sustainment team to ensure seamless transition from the development team to their deployment and level 1/2 helpdesk support staff. The Software Documentation and Training Specialist creates and maintains a software system computing network at our office consisting of all of the latest applications in our software portfolio for demonstration to our customers and their stakeholders. The Software Documentation and Training Specialist may be called upon to review and edit specifications and design documentation for understanding and clarity.
Qualifications We Value:
Experience in software product installation, configuration, and operation for networked computing systems
Experience writing installation guides, administration guides, and user manuals
Experience with video training vignette creation
Experience with slideshow presentations for succinct and powerful information sharing
Engaging and creative trainer in classroom and 1-on-1 settings
Familiarity with server, PC, tablet, and mobile software application installation and operation
Familiarity with Windows and Linux operating environments
Familiarity with technical documentation best practices for user-centered manuals
Team player- Works well in groups and leads collaborative discussions
Good communicator - Strong written, oral, and question/answer communication skills
Self-starter - assumes full responsibility for completion of assigned tasks
Must be able to pass a United States Government background investigation
Associates or Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
Minimum of 5 year of experience in technical documentation, presentations, and training
Direct working experience with customers and end users
