NeighborWorks America: Working Together For Stronger Communities Purpose of Division: NeighborWorks America (NWA) is a national nonprofit organization established by Congress in 1977 to provide financial support, technical assistance and training to a network of community based organizations. The Organizational Assessment Division (OAD) assesses the health of organizations within its network, including in depth analyses of financial health and mission delivery. With over 30 years of experience in organizational assessment, OAD shows organizations how to better meet their objectives and maximize their investments. OAD assessments include a review of real estate development, asset management, property management, lending, homeownership promotion, homeownership preservation, and community building and engagement business functions. Position Summary: Reporting to the Senior Director of External Assessments, the Manager is a highly visible and professional position within OAD. This position is responsible for writing non-profit business assessments on organizational capacity, performance and financial health issues. This position is responsible for conducting onsite assessments of network organizations with a focus on (but not limited to) organizations whose core business involves Real Estate Development, Asset Development or Property Management and general community development that involves a diverse array of lines of business. This position assists or leads specialized teams and uses analytical tools, core technical skills and evaluation methods to assess current and potential network organizations. Essential Duties/Responsibilities: Nature of Work Contacts: Specific contact with OAD financial analysts and other NWA staff focusing on financial health issues within network is required. Required Minimum Qualifications: (a) Education: A bachelor’s degree in business, non-profit management, finance, accounting or related field is required.
(b) Experience: A minimum of eight (8) to ten (10) years’ relevant professional experience, preferably in finance, real estate development, asset management or property management. Will consider any combination of training, education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Advanced experience with non-profit boards of directors, including service on a non-profit board of directors preferred. Advanced, in depth experience in developing outcome-based performance evaluations. In depth experience in evaluating financial statements and demonstrated recent experience in applying financial analysis skills.

(d) Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Knowledge of affordable housing or community development industries is required. (e) NeighborWorks America Staff are expected to demonstrate excellence in the following: - Sensitivity to racial, gender, sexual orientation and cultural differences

Preferred Qualifications: A Master’s degree in business, non-profit management, finance, accounting or other related field. Fluent in Spanish.
