Huff Ice Cream ( A Division of Mirabito) is seeking a reliable and customer-focused Driver Route Sales Representative to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely delivery of our products to customers within an assigned route. You will represent the Huff brand with professionalism, ensuring outstanding service, safe handling of products, and strong relationships with retail accounts.
As a Driver Route Sales Representative, you will manage all aspects of the delivery process, including verifying orders, handling transactions, merchandising, product rotation, setting up displays, and maintaining back stock inventory. You will also operate company vehicles and refrigeration equipment safely and efficiently, while ensuring all food safety standards are met.
Essential Functions:
- Provide constant, consistent and accurate communications to Store personnel, Huff Sales Team including Customer Service and Management.
- Driver Route Sales Representative is responsible for the accurate delivery of predetermined orders of products on time, safely and securely to Huff Ice Cream Customers.
- Driver Route Sales Representative is responsible for delivering the preorder or peddled product, verification of the order, ensuring pricing is correct and completing the entire sales transaction.
- Driver Route Sales Representative is responsible for merchandising, pack out, product rotation, back stock inventory, credits/returns, set up of displays, point of sale, order writing, delivery, and general communication with retail accounts within their assigned territory.
Responsibilities:
- Operate company delivery vehicles in a safe, efficient and courteous manner while following all Company and governmental regulations.
- Ensure all vehicles are checked daily for safe operating standard procedures i.e.: fluids, air, fuel, temperature, load security and etc.
- Deliver preordered products to Customers on time and efficiently per Customer and Company delivery and routing guidelines. Labels or mark any product requiring additional marking.
- Ensure Driver Sales Support person assigned to assist with product unloading, display, rotation, labeling is complying with store merchandising/plan o grams. Ensures Driver Sales Support hours of work are correct.
- Food Safety is a top priority with all products being maintained in the prescribed temperature, packed and merchandised as soon as possible and any packaging defects that can lead to contamination the product is removed from the cabinet or not delivered.
- Informs customers of any new products, displays or out of stocks. If out of stocks notifies Huff Customer service for additional product.
- Sets up merchandise displays, shelves, racks, baskets and other for existing and new products.
- Reviews current product displays and location and assists in maximizing sales per store and per delivery.
- Understands, complies with and executes Customer mandated store service policies and procedures.
- Provide constant, consistent and accurate communication to store personnel, sales and office teammates. Use voice mail and or email.
- Maintain flawless appearance of product display programs, cabinets, coolers, shelves at store level including products on sales floor as well as in backrooms.
- Transmit hand held or written orders constantly to Huff Ice Cream main office. Verify order transmission.
- Responsible for all inventory, returns, credits, monies, invoice signatures, equipment documentation, hand held computers, printers, material handling equipment.
- Ensure that all Handheld equipment and other Company equipment is safe and secure and follow all prescribed security, safety and password procedures.
- Responsible for final settlement of the route including all invoices, monies, inventory and reconciliation. Must follow up with Accounting any discrepancies.
- Ensure the delivery vehicle is cleaned after each day inside and all empty containers, cartons, pallets and crates are unloaded in the proper location.
- Recommends to Supervisors, Customer Service and management potential route modifications to improve service, reduce costs or improve quality of service.
- Follow all company procedures, Good Housekeeping principles safety regulations and professional code of conduct.
