Job Title: Quality Technician

 Location: Durham, NC
 Pay Rate: $18–$20/hr (depending on experience) + 10% shift differential

Schedules Available

Monday–Thursday | 4:30 PM – 2:30 AM

Weekend Shift | Friday–Sunday | 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM

Position Overview

The Quality Technician is responsible for inspecting and ensuring proper testing of products and processes throughout the manufacturing cycle. This role safeguards product integrity by ensuring items meet established quality standards, including customer specifications, industry regulations, and company policies. The technician performs routine inspections, identifies defects, documents findings, and collaborates with internal teams to implement corrective actions—ultimately preventing substandard goods from reaching customers.

Key Responsibilities

Product Inspection:
Inspect raw materials, in-process items, and finished goods to detect defects or deviations from specifications using various tools and inspection techniques.

Data Collection & Documentation:
Record inspection results, document non-conforming products, and maintain detailed quality records to track trends and emerging issues.

Quality Reporting:
Prepare reports outlining quality findings, root cause insights, and recommended corrective actions.

Process Monitoring:
Observe production activities to ensure compliance with quality standards, identify opportunities for improvement, and recommend process adjustments.

Calibration, ESD & Maintenance:
Maintain and calibrate inspection equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability, while ensuring compliance with ESD requirements.

Compliance Checks:
Ensure adherence to internal and external quality standards and certifications.

Root Cause Analysis:
Participate in investigations to determine the source of quality issues and support implementation of preventative measures.

Training & Communication:
Provide guidance to production staff on quality expectations and communicate quality concerns to leadership and relevant departments.

 

 
Position Requirements

Required Skills & Qualifications

Strong CODING experience needed for this position 

Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify even minor defects

Technical proficiency with measurement tools, testing methods, and quality control techniques

Analytical skills to interpret data, identify trends, and determine root causes

Problem-solving ability to propose effective and long-term solutions

Accurate documentation and reporting capability

Strong communication skills to interact effectively with production teams and management
