Basic Job Functions:

Altenloh, Brinck & Co. US, Inc. manufactures and distributes engineered fasteners under the SPAX® brand for the construction market, TRUFAST® for the commercial roofing industry and TRUFAST Walls® for exterior building envelopes and facades. The Business Intelligence & Information Systems Director will own how the company turns its data into decisions. This role is responsible for business intelligence, reporting and information systems, and will lead the BI/SAP team. The director will partner with leaders across all functions, including operations, finance, supply chain, sales and HR to clearly understand the business reporting and information needs and will work with the BI/SAP and IT teams, as well as outside vendors, to deliver accurate, valuable and timely information that improves performance and helps move company strategy forward. The Director will help deliver this by working with the teams, asking the right questions, understanding how the data and systems work, and working through problems together until there is a clear solution. With our move from SAP ECC to S/4HANA underway, this leader will be deeply involved in shaping our reporting in the new system.

Our benefits include:

  • Free employee medical, dental, and vision insurance @ 30 days
  • Eligible to participate in the Company's quarterly incentive plan
  • Employee referral ($2,000)
  • Company match 401k @ 6 months
  • PTO

Essential Responsibilities:

Business Partnership

  • Work directly with leaders and users in operations, finance, supply chain, sales and HR to understand how their areas function and what information they need.
  • Maintain a practical, prioritized list of reporting and analytics work, and review it regularly with business owners.
  • Spot opportunities where data can improve margin, service, cost and operational performance, and follow through until high-performing solutions are delivered.

Business Intelligence & Reporting

  • Own the BI and reporting portfolio, ensuring that it efficiently and effectively meets the organization’s needs.
  • Create a single source of truth for core company metrics, with agreed definitions and clear data owners.
  • Make sure month-end, operational and plant-level reporting is accurate and on time, and work with the team to quickly diagnose and resolve issues when it is not.
  • Minimize manual, spreadsheet-based reporting in favor of automated reports and self-service tools.

SAP S/4HANA & Information Systems

  • Lead reporting and analytics in the SAP S/4HANA migration, working directly with users, the BI, SAP and IT teams and our SAP partners on requirements, data mapping, testing and cutover.
  • Ensure reporting needs are built into data and process design.
  • Oversee SAP reporting and information systems support, enhancement and integrations after go-live, working through complex issues.

Data Governance & Controls

  • Put practical data ownership, access and quality practices in place that fit a company of our size.
  • Make sure reporting supports audit, compliance and financial control requirements, as well as intercompany reporting needs.
  • Establish master data governance (material, customer, and vendor) with clear owners and quality checks.
  • Support Finance and IT on SAP role design, segregation of duties and periodic user access reviews.

Team Leadership

  • Lead and coach the BI/SAP team
  • Set priorities and balance workload across the team.
  • Engage and manage outside consultants only where they add capacity, clear additional value, or specialized skills.
  • Build a team culture focused on accuracy, responsiveness, service, education, and business results.

The duties and responsibilities described are not a comprehensive list and additional tasks may be assigned from time to time; or the scope of the job may change as necessitated by business demands.

Position Requirements

  • Experience delivering reporting and analytics through a major ERP implementation or migration, ideally SAP S/4HANA

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer science, business, finance or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Required Skills/Competencies:

  • Track record of collaborating directly with business leaders and users to understand the underlying business needs, and ultimately working with BI, SAP and IT teams to shape and deliver the appropriate solution.
  • Comfortable pushing back, in a respectful and productive manner, on requests that will not drive a decision.
  • Clear communicator who can explain data and trade-offs plainly.
  • Experience putting practical data definitions and data quality and validation standards in place without adding unnecessary bureaucracy.
  • Able to juggle multiple projects and day-to-day requests while staying focused on what matters most.
  • Strong working knowledge of SAP (or similar ERP) data and reporting, including how finance, supply chain and manufacturing data flow through the system, and enough technical depth to guide the team and judge the quality of their solutions.
  • Strong, hands-on experience with modern BI tools (e.g. Power BI, SAP Analytics Cloud, Tableau) and data concepts.
  • Manufacturing, distribution or other plant- and warehouse-intensive industry experience preferred.
  • Broader IT exposure (infrastructure, applications, cybersecurity, IT budget and vendor management) preferred.
