SUMMARY

The Bartender is responsible to service all guests in the bar in a quick, efficient and friendly manner while maintaining cleanliness of all work areas.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Guest Service

  • Maintains guest service as the driving philosophy of the operation.
  • Demonstrate a personal commitment to guest service in responding promptly to guests' needs.
  • Committed to making sure every guest is satisfied.
  • Meets or exceeds guest satisfaction measures.
  • Ensures hotel standards and services contribute to the delivery of consistent guest service.
  • Implements and practices guest service initiatives and performs to Hotel Standards.

Bartender Operations

  • Assure correct pouring of drinks and ensures proper void handling.

  • Establish pleasant and professional relationships with all customers and co-workers and see to specific needs when requested.
  • Make sure that service and maintenance of the bar area meet the specifications of department guidelines.
  • Ensure all sanitation procedures are followed.
  • Notify supervisor immediately pertaining to any safety, security or maintenance opportunities for guests or employees.
  • Verify that no one under twenty one is served alcohol.
  • Confirm that city and state regulations pertaining to the serving of alcohol are enforced.
  • Notify manager immediately when a guest is recognized to be intoxicated.
  • Assist management in any other manner deemed necessary for the well- being of the operation.
  • Adhere to the company employee handbook at all times.
  • Control, measures and reports Bar Sales Outlet performance on a daily basis and takes required corrective action to ensure operations are in accordance with the company standards and objectives.

  • Prepare inventory and audit procedures for bar facilities consistent with operational policies and directives.
  • Work closely with the Food and Beverage Manager regarding inventory taking, cost controls, loading, ordering and storing.
  • Check that all bars inventory are counted after each shift and report discrepancies.
  • Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
  • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Hotel Standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing the proper uniform and nametag when working.
  • Comply at all times with Hotel Standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
  • Other duties as required.
  • Working in a professional manner at all times and maintaining a clean work area.
  • Keep inventory of all alcohol.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below represent the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this position. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • At least one year bartending.

REASONING ABILITY

Demonstrate the ability to anticipate and solve practical problems or resolve issues.

LANGUAGE AND MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

  • Ability to read and speak English and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with employees, guests and supervisors for optimum operation of the property.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

  • Individual needs to be able to be on their feet for long periods of time.
  • At times it may require lifting up to 50lbs and must understand proper lifting procedures.
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment and understand the sense of urgency for our guests.
  • Employees must always be on time, wear clean proper uniform and have positive attitude.
  • Must have energetic and outgoing personality.
