Share Email Opening Title Chaplain  About the Organization Hearthstone Senior Living- Serving residents with Love, Respect, and Integrity for over 25 years.   Position Chaplain   Description The Chaplain offers spiritual support to our residents and their families. The Chaplain is committed to respecting the dignity and faith tradition of everyone, and to guide and direct the spiritual climate of Hearthstone Senior Living. Base pastoral care ministry on an inclusive basis, open to persons of all faiths or no faith. Duties and Responsibilities Actively participate in pastoral care. Provide worship and teaching opportunities through Celebration Services, Bible Studies, and weekly devotions. Create an open and inviting environment for people of faith to worship free of judgement, doing so with compassion, enthusiasm and empathy. Oversee the spiritual and emotional aspects of the community by providing support and resources to create a holistic and nurturing environment. Be available to counsel residents, their families and staff upon request, especially for those experiencing grief, illness or sudden changes in their lives. Oversee the planning of Memorial Services for residents/staff who have passed if they do not affiliate with a specific church. Work with the Life Enrichment department to help them connect with residents and be a bridge for the faith community. Be available to come to the community after hours in the event of a resident's death assisting the family and staff. Participate in community outreach to local churches and places of worship. Keep records of pastoral activities. Participate in weekly stand-up meetings as needed.   Position Requirements Requirements and Qualifications Master of Divinity from an accredited seminary/university or 4 years of Pastoral experience equivalent. Ordination or commissioning for ministry by a recognized religions group/church. At least 5 yrs. of experience in direct ministry and counseling preferred. Dementia and Alzheimer’s Training through Relias and Oregon Care Partners upon hire. Demonstrated organization skills. Experience working with Hospice/Palliative Care, or in a healthcare setting, with those experiencing illness or disability.
