As the Finance Director at Speed Motor Express of WNY, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial health of the organization. This includes managing budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and compliance processes, as well as supporting strategic decision-making through accurate and timely financial insights.
Duties and responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the company’s accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting functions.
- Lead the development of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
- Analyze financial performance and provide recommendations to support strategic planning.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local financial and tax regulations.
- Supervise and support accounting staff, external accountants, and auditors.
- Maintain and improve internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Coordinate financial audits and prepare audit schedules and documentation.
- Monitor cash flow, accounts payable, receivable, and bank reconciliations.
- Support pricing strategies, capital expenditure planning, and cost-saving initiatives.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and executive summaries.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or MBA preferred.
- 8+ years of progressive experience in financial leadership, preferably in transportation or logistics.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, budgeting, and regulatory compliance.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with ERP or transportation industry accounting systems is a plus.

- Must wear closed toe and heal shoes when in the warehouse area.
