Greystones is hiring for a detail-oriented and analytical Senior Data Engineer to support data-driven decision-making through the collection, processing, analysis, and visualization of complex datasets. The ideal candidate will have experience working with IRS data, strong analytical skills, and the ability to translate technical findings into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Meet with Government clients to understand their business needs, define research objectives, identify data sources, and develop analysis plans.
  • Work with teams of data scientists to build pipelines for data engineering and machine learning.
  • Work with teams of software developers to build tools for data visualization and analysis.
  • Design and develop responsive web applications
  • Write clean, maintainable, and scalable code in JavaScript and python
  • Conduct thorough code reviews and enforce security and performance standards
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Develop and execute comprehensive unit and integration tests
  • Debug, troubleshoot, and refactor existing code while maintaining detailed documentation
  • Propose innovative technical solutions to business challenges
  • Implement secure data exchange protocols and integrate with third-party services
  • Manage code repositories using Git and support application deployment processes
  • Provide ongoing production support and monitor application health
  • Create technical documentation throughout all phases of the software development lifecycle
  • Gather, clean, and explore large and complex datasets to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies within the data landscape.
  • Evaluate model performance and iterate on methodology, and present findings and recommendations to external and internal stakeholders.
  • Conduct exploratory data analysis and data mining using large-scale Government data sources. Develop briefings and reports to communicate key findings to ASR colleagues and government clients.
  • Prepare written reports, dashboards, or presentations summarizing findings from data analysis and translate complex analytical and technical concepts into clear language for target audiences.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field
  • This position requires candidates to obtain a Federal Public Trust Clearance. Being a US Citizen or a Lawful Permanent Resident is required when obtaining a Federal Public Trust Clearance.
  • Qualified candidates must be able to comply with the Federal government's vaccine mandate.
  • Supports analytical data pipelines, system integration, and production continuity
  • Experience supporting analytics across both legacy and modern platforms
  • Strong data engineering and programming expertise relevant to large-scale analytics
  • Experience supporting validation, testing, and migration of analytical logic
  • Ability to coordinate effectively with IT and platform teams
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience supporting analytics in a fraud detection, compliance, identity theft, or similarly regulated data environment, preferably within a federal agency or large enterprise system
  • Minimum eight (8) years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or production analytics system support roles
  • Knowledge of cloud and on-premise hosting, deployment, and DevOps practices
  • Solid understanding of Agile development methodologies
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong client and team interaction skills.
  • Critical thinker with excellent attention to detail.
