Position Summary
The Quality Assurance Engineer is responsible for maintaining and improving Verde's Quality Management System (QMS), manufacturing compliance programs, and continuous improvement initiatives. Working closely with Engineering, Operations, R&D, and Supply Chain, this role ensures products, processes, and materials consistently meet customer, regulatory, and internal quality requirements while supporting commercialization of new technologies.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Systems:
Maintain ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System and controlled documentation.
Coordinate internal audits, management reviews, CAPAs, and quality metrics.
Support customer, surveillance, and certification audits.
Quality & Compliance:
Lead investigations involving customer complaints, nonconformances, and root cause analysis.
Support cGMP compliance, FDA food contact documentation, and calibration programs.
Ensure timely implementation and verification of corrective actions.
Supplier & Manufacturing Quality:
Conduct supplier and internal quality audits.
Monitor incoming materials, in-process production, and finished goods.
Analyze quality data to improve process capability and reduce variation.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives.
Product Commercialization:
Support validation, scale-up, and commercialization of new products.
Partner with R&D, Engineering, and Operations to ensure production readiness and regulatory compliance.
Laboratory & Manufacturing Support:
Develop proficiency with polymer processing equipment, including twin-screw extruders, injection molding, and blow molding.
Operate twin screw compounding of polymers for design and development of new production materials.
Operate laboratory equipment including Melt Flow Analyzer, FTIR, DSC, Instron, Moisture Analyzer, Density, Izod, and related analytical instruments.
Collect and analyze laboratory and production data to support quality and development objectives.
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Polymer Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
2-5 years of Quality or Manufacturing Engineering experience.
Experience with ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems.
Experience with twin screw compounding processes
Experience with polymer (polyethylene and polypropylene) engineering
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred
Experience in plastics, polymers, extrusion, or compounding.
Knowledge of FDA food contact regulations and cGMP.
Internal Auditor certification.
