This position conducts proper cleaning and disinfecting of  all rooms to provide a healthy environment for the pets in HSSA’s care. This position feeds the animals, provides enrichment, and cares for each pet with compassion. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: · Thoroughly clean and disinfect all animal kennels, enclosures, and holding rooms daily. · Responsible for daily feeding and monitoring the eating habits of all animals. · Observe animal appearance and activity for general physical condition, obvious signs of illness, disease, and discontent.   · Utilize safe and fear free animal handling skills to provide a safe environment for all pets at HSSA. · Provide daily enrichment to applicable pets, following the planned enrichment schedule. · Ensure each kennel kitchen is properly stocked, clean and tidy.   · Wash and sterilize food bowls and enrichment supplies. · Make sure vacant kennels are cleaned and properly staged. · Perform laundry duties which include loading washer and dryer, folding clean laundry and replenishing shelves. · Perform other duties as assigned. Working Conditions: Work is performed at an animal shelter or in community settings. Exposure to zoonotic diseases, fractious animals, loud noises, and outdoor weather.
