The Retail Coordinator is responsible for day-to-day operations and sales of Montpelier’s Museum Shop merchandise. This includes vendor coordination and ordering, inventory management, stocking, online store oversight, and maintaining engaging merchandise displays. The role delivers outstanding customer service to all visitors, communicates daily tour and special event information, and leads merchandise sales at Montpelier events, including the annual Hunt Races.
DUTIES

Drive sales of Museum Shop merchandise with a focus on excellent customer service.

Provide friendly and knowledgeable assistance to all Montpelier visitors and guests.

Manage stocking, maintenance, and cleanliness of the retail sales floor.

Design and update store displays on a seasonal basis to maximize visual appeal.

Conduct the annual inventory of merchandise.

Label merchandise and implement price adjustments as needed.

Order and manage merchandise for the Museum Shop.

Oversee ordering and stocking for Montpelier’s onsite café.

Lead and coordinate merchandise sales at special events, including the annual Hunt Races.

Manage all aspects of the Museum Shop’s online sales, including packing, shipping, and mailing.

Keep the online store up to date with current merchandise and pricing.

Prepare comprehensive monthly reports detailing museum shop performance, including sales, inventory, and relevant financial data.

Develops and monitors retail operation budget throughout the fiscal year and responds appropriately to actual results.

Flexibility is essential, as the role may involve occasional trips to pick up merchandise from suppliers or other designated areas to support the museum shop's needs
