Hotel Indigo is seeking one or two OVERNIGHT Valet Drivers

 

Valet drivers shuttle guests vehicles to and from the hotel to our secure parking garage.   This position works an overnight shift, 11pm to 7am.    Schedules can be fixed days.  A background check is conducted for this position, and a clean driving record is required.    Interested candidates should submit a resume for consideration.

 

Essential Functions:

  1. Possess a positive and upbeat personality with a desire to deliver outstanding customer service to our guests.
  2. Maintains a high level of professional appearance and demeanor.
  3. Maintain the highest level of confidentiality in all areas.
  4. Demonstrate the ability to multi-task, be detail-oriented and be able to problem-solve, to effectively deal with internal and external customers.
  5. Handle and resolve guest complaints professionally and courteously, through effective listening and clarifying issues raised by guests.
  6. Demonstrate good communication skills and convey information and ideas.
  7. Licensed to operate a motorized vehicle with a clean driving record. Safely operates the shuttle within state and federal guidelines at all times.
  8. Maintains valet records as required.
  9. Recognize and take action on any safety or loss prevention incidences that may cause damage, injury, or other liability to individuals or company property. Implement all company policies and procedures for safety and security.
  10. Ensuring that all OSHA, State, and Federal guidelines for chemical, fire, health, and safety are being followed. Keeping safety in mind in all things.
  11. Responsible for key control and security of all vehicles.
  12. Participates in and supports a positive, enjoyable work environment.
  13. Holds an understanding of hotel products and services (i.e., food and beverage, recreation)

Performs other duties as assigned.

Mandatory Job Requirements

  1. Good driving record.
  2. Ability to communicate with hotel staff, guests, and management in a professional manner.
  3. Knowledge of the surrounding area and events.
  4. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
  5. Read, write and speak English.
  6. Ability to learn safety, emergency, and accident prevention policies and procedures.
  7. Neat, well-groomed appearance including wearing the proper uniform and name tag when working (per brand standards)

 

Accountability

  1. Maintains a high level of Quality, Service, and Cleanliness.
  2. Maintains smooth operation of shuttle services.
  3. Communicates openly with direct supervisor.
  4. Maintain a high level of quality, service, and cleanliness keeping guest survey report in an acceptable range.

Experience or Training Required

  1. High school education
  2. 1-year hospitality experience (Preferred)

License or Certification Required

Valid driver license

 

Marginal Job Functions

  1. Deliver cribs, towels, or other items to guestrooms as requested.
  2. Perform light maintenance duties.
  3. Empty exterior trash cans, assist in keeping the parking lot and grounds free of debris.

 

 

Physical Demands

  1. Sit, stand, walk; use hands and fingers to handle, or feel, for long periods, up to 8 hours at a time. Reach with hands and arms.
  2. Frequently repeat the same movements, moving in and out of the shuttle, lifting, pulling, pushing.
  3. Understand the speech of other people, and speak clearly so others can understand.
  4. Read and see details, including traffic signals and road signs.
  5. Lift up to 25 pounds regularly, lift up to 50 pounds from time to time.
  6. Stoop, kneel, twist or crouch occasionally.

Environmental Conditions

The job is considered inside/outside, the employees will spend 50% of their time inside and 50% of their time outside. Must be able to work effectively in a stressful environment, communicate well with others, effectively deal with guests and accept constructive criticism.

Must be able to change activity frequently and cope with interruptions.
