This position is responsible for maintaining open communication on the status of the department with the Store Directors, Clerks, and Supervisor. You will be expected to set and re-set priorities, distinguish between the urgent and the important, solve problems, hold and reconcile ideas and lead program development as well as advancement strategies from conception through cultivation to completion. JOB TYPE: Full time/Part time, hourly. Must be available weekdays, weekends, holidays for various shifts, evenings and on occasion work at another store location. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Exemplify superior guest service with a friendly, helpful, and courteous attitude, using product knowledge and information to answer all questions guests may have about products Unload frozen, dairy and grocery goods from trucks Cut cases open and sort product before stocking Receive product, ensuring order and invoice accuracy Stock shelves with new, transferred, or back-stock merchandise to face front Stock approximately 65 boxes of product per hour Rotate merchandise and face product according to Buy For Less standards Maintain clean, fully stocked, and organized shelves Maintain back-stock areas are clean and neat Stacking empty pallets, mopping floors and crushing empty boxes Load, unload and move heavy and bulky product Assist in other departments as needed Knowledge of proper stocking procedures and store layout Performs other duties as assigned to meet business needs Ability to be creative in building holiday and seasonal displays Other duties as required   Position Requirements Eighteen (18) years of age or older 3-6 months prior stocking experience preferred Must be able to do simple math Problem solving skills and the ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner Ability to operate hand jack, power jack, and fork lift Must be able to work without supervision and be productive Energetic, self-motivated and, detail oriented Knowledge of inventory control preferable Experience in ordering and merchandising product is desired Guest service orientation, friendly personality, positive attitude Strong work ethic Proven leadership ability to exercise sound judgement in interpreting, communicating, and applying policy. Courage to make and implement hard decisions in a timely manner. Ability to demonstrate trustworthiness and integrity in daily activities Ability to work effectively with a broad diversity of individuals and backgrounds, and generational differences, all with the intent to support the core values of the BFL company. Excellent oral and written communication, organizational, interpersonal, advocacy, and time management skills.
