¬ Working across various shifts is required. 2nd shift or overnight on the 2-2-3 schedule. ¬
Responsible for activities in production area(s) to meet production goals, quality and cost objectives.¬ Provides direction to employees according to established policies and management guidance.¬ This position requires direction of separate production, processing, or scaling rooms accounting for approximately 20-40 hourly employees.
Plan, organize, and delegate work assignments to accommodate departmental schedules and to best utilize manpower, in accordance with labor standards, as well as equipment and thereby meeting production efficiencies and striving for continual improvement within department, across safety, quality, productivity, waste, and customer service KPI's.
Provide direction to production personnel and monitor job performance, through regular feedback as well as documented FLDP reviews.¬
Communicate, in a timely manner, with operations manager, schedulers, and other management staff status of production progress keeping them appraised of any issues that may impact order completion.¬ Communicate with personnel on any schedule changes and assist them in resolving production issues to ensure customer orders are completed on time.
Ensure product specifications are met and alerting operations manager and quality assurance if product quality is in question immediately.¬ Resolve quality issues through training of personnel and enforcement of standards.
Knowledgeable in all processes and equipment functions, tracks and resolves labor timekeeping issues.¬ Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of area.
Develop and implement job specific training to all employees, ensuring overall conformance with all Company policies, Safety, Good Manufacturing Practices, Sanitation guidelines, and housekeeping.
Is an advocate of safety within the facility and follows, and enforces all safety procedures, including the timely reporting of any accidents, near misses, first aids, or property damage.
Enforce Company Policy on Attendance, Company Rules, Safety Rules, and Job Descriptions.
Support the SQF Program and promote food safety.

Bachelors degree or equivalent experience.¬ 4+ years of experience as a front line supervisor in a manufacturing environment is preferred.¬ Experience in the food industry and knowledge of GMPs, HACCP and sanitation practices is helpful.
Must be able to communicate accurately and clearly both orally and in writing using electronic media, telephone and direct contact with internal and external personnel.¬ ¬ Skill set must include strong analytical, observation, and coaching skills coupled with initiative to create and embrace change.¬ Knowledge of facility's packaging, ingredients, equipment, and capacity is important.¬ Operate standard office equipment and demonstrate competency in the use of standard software applications.
