Description

Installs and writes programmable logic contoller based systems, maintains electronic and instrument based components of machinery and equipment while following electrical code, ladder logic, schematic diagrams, blueprints, and other specifications. Assists in project management, implementation, and configuration of new control systems. Provide setup and startup of HMI Graphics, Variable Frequency Drives, Control and Communication Networks and other electrical hardware and software.

Programs, troubleshoots, modify and maintains PLC's with a lap top computer using platform systems by vendors such as Allen Bradley, Semiens, Rexroth, etc.

Assists in project management, implementation and configuration of new control systems and other automation devices such as VFDs for automation/control, control system upgrades, equipment, and equipment upgrades

Replaces faulty switches, and other elements of electrical and mechanical systems. Dismantles electrical machinery and replaces defective electrical or mechanical parts such as gears, brushes, and armatures.

Provide guidance to technicians in regard to programming, repair, installation, and maintenance of PLC systems. Provide assistance to reslove program issues.

Troubleshoot electrical/programming related issues for all plant equipment, collaborate with in-house department personnel. Provide technical support in developing and improving processes. Assist with integration and start-up of all plant equipment also.

Maintains Plant power distribution systems, including performing preventive maintenance, and installing wiring, conduit and apparatus.

Perform other duties, as assigned.

 
Position Requirements

BS Degree in Electrical Engineering preferred or equivalent experience.


5 years progressively responsible journey level experience in electrical and mechanical maintenance of industrial equipment and machinery to including PLC based systems, servo motors, and drives.

Knowledge of Allen Bradley and other PLC programs

Project management experience.

AutoCad experience, MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint

Knowledge of robot motion systems and three axis systems preferred

Must poseess excellent communication skills, problem solving, critical thinking, team player and self-motivated

Working knowledge and experience with Ladder Logic.

Ability to write ladder logic.

Ability to program controls.

Ability to use AutoCad
Working knowledge of electronic and electrical concepts and operating safety.
Working knowledge of and demonstrated ability to use electronic and electrical test equipment including digital and analog volt and ohm-meters, oscilloscopes, data analyzers and circuit testers.
Knowledge of current national electrical code.
Demonstrated ability to use hand and power tools commonly used in electrical, electronic, and mechanical trades.
