Description

The production worker is responsible for carrying out all line activities needed to support the running of each line they are assigned to. The production worker must work well and communicate effectively with other co-workers.

  1. The production worker is responsible for carrying out all line activities needed to support the running of each line they are assigned to. The production worker must work well and communicate effectively with other co-workers.
  2. Supply the line with packaging materials at a speed set by S.I.S. and efficiency standards.
  3. Maintain accurate S.I.S. and Q.A. documents.
  4. Inform the line foreperson/ lead and line operator of mechanical deficiencies.
  5. Perform product and packaging changeovers as instructed, to maintain line efficiencies.
  6. Maintain a clean, organized and safe work area in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices.
  7. Monitor all code dating equipment to insure correct and legible code dates.
  8. Insure that the correct product is packaged in the proper container and case.
  9. Perform assigned tasks in JDE.
  10. Responsible for ensuring that all tasks are performed in a safe manner.
  11. Check and record weights and make adjust as indicated by the lines weight control program.
  12. Is qualified to preform a bid position in times that coverage is needed, These duties will be paid according to the collective bargaining aggrement.
  13. Perform additional duties as directed.
  14. Follow all Safety, associated SOP’s and LOTO guideline and programs.

  15. Comply with all Food Safety policies, procedures and regulations including GMP’s, Quality Assurance procedures, Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point and GFSI/SQF level 2 or other 3rd party audit criteria as they apply to this position.

  16. Must adhere to all Ventura Foods company policies.

 
Position Requirements

EDUCATION / SKILLS:

  1. Must have the ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
  2. Must have the ability to add, subtract, divide and multiply using a basic calculator.
  3. Must be able to utilize time in an efficient manner and work with limited supervision.
  4. Must be qualified to operate forklifts in a safe and efficient manner.
  5. Must possess a mechanical aptitude and ability sufficient to maintain line efficiencies and to assist maintenance in trouble shooting diagnostics in the event of a mechanical deficiency.

OTHER (Physical Abilities):

  1. Ability to lift 50 pounds frequently.
  2. 2. With the ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, handle, push and pull throughout a work shift.
  3. 3. Must be capable of carrying out duties/ jobs for any worker that is absent for the shift.
  4. Must have the ability to carry out repetitive activities throughout a work shift.
