Working closely with the VP, Oil Trading this job will be responsible for analyzing and implementing market strategy, maintaining relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, and maintaining the lines of communication between Oil Trading and the rest of the organization. The Director, Oil Trading will work closely with departmental staff and external suppliers, brokers and customers in the execution of oil trading strategy.

Analyze market conditions and formulate oil trading strategy in number of different oil types

Monitor plant usage patterns and formulate buying strategy based on past usage and future forecasts.

Act as market expert to internal and external stakeholders.

Back up rest of oil trading staff in sales management and supply chain logistics.

Position Requirements

• The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years experience in vegetable oil and/or agri-commodity trading.
• College degree is preferred. 
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment that delivers sound and solid oil trades.  As well as the ability to prioritize issues and deliver projects and programs on time and within budget.
• Proven success in cultivating & building relationships with current/future external suppliers, contacts & customers.
• Experience in vegetable oil trading, trends analysis & forecasting.  Ability to creatively view future trends in the marketplace.

Possess a successful track record in vegetable oil and/or agri-commodity trading. Be a diplomat to external suppliers, an advisor to internal Sales and Operations and a strategist in global oil trading.
• An energetic individual that can actively formulate trading strategies and analyze market conditions.
• Act as an “expert”, advisor and departmental liaison to internal and external stakeholders.
• An individual that works well in a team environment.
