To perform Corrective, Preventative, and Emergency Work orders as assigned on all production equipment and facilities as required.  Perform modifications and new installations as needed and assigned.  Maintain all equipment in optimal condition to ensure maximum "uptime" and minimal "line downtime".  Assist in the training of Technician I positions.

Perform Preventative Maintenance Work orders as assigned and accurately record work history and labor time.  Initiate Corrective Work orders where needed and identified during PM.

Perform Corrective Maintenance Work orders as assigned and accurately record work history and labor time.

Perform Emergency Work orders as assigned and/or respond to Emergency calls to get equipment back on line for Production.

Perform equipment and facilities modifications and/or new installations as assigned, including design and oversight of equipment.

Perform housekeeping and GMP duties relative to the position

Attend and participate in training, safety meetings, department meetings, etc. as required.

Research maintenance solutions for repairs as needed. Recognize and make recommendations for upgrades, modifications, and new installations and research as required.

Maintain accurate records and documentation including, but not limited to, work history, reported labor time, proper submittal forms for parts, etc. 

Work with Technicians I, as assigned,  to assist in their training and to build upon their existing skills and job knowledge.

Comply with all GMP, Safety Procedures, Company Policies, and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points as they apply to this position.

Position Requirements

The Maintenance Technician II should have a High School Diploma or GED Equivalent and successful completion of a related Trade School, Associate Degree in a related technology, or equivalent amount of demonstrated and documented experience.  Should be proficient in Microsoft Applications such as Word and Excel.  Incumbent should be willing to acquire further education and training at qualified, accredited seminars, workshops, and institutions to keep abreast of new technologies and enhance existing job skills.  Individual should have a minimum of 3 years demonstratable maintenance experience in a food manufacturing  industrial environment.  While a Maintenance Technician II will possess the bulk of the skills required for Technician I he will have training and possess strong expertise in a specialty field(s) deemed necessary by the Maintenance Manager including, but not limited to, one or more of the following:  Industrial Electrical/Electronics, Programmable Logic Controllers as well as programming skills, Process Control Systems, Ammonia Refrigeration and Boiler Systems, and/or other specialty areas deemed necessary.

Experienced and proficient with ammonia refrigeration systems and boiler operations. Strong profieciency in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of industrial electrical systems up to 480 volts AC including but not limited to, control circuitry, single phase, and 3 phase circuits and equipment. Experienced in troubleshooting PLC  with a strong proficiency in programming of same. Possess ability to use the PLC as a troubleshooting tool. Proficiency in the installation, programming, maintenance, and troubleshooting of variable frequency drives. Proficient in the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical systems including, but not limited to, hydraulics, pneumatics, packaging equipment, conveyance systems, pumps, valves, lubrication systems and techniques, storage systems, piping systems, etc.  Proficient in reading schematics and blueprints. Experienced in performing preventative maintenance procedures with accurate reporting and record keeping. Multi-tasking and self motivation with the ability to work with minimal supervision is a must.
