Description

JOB SUMMARY:   Responsible for providing strategic leadership and management to attract, retain, develop and utilize the most competent employees to carry out the mission of Catholic Charities.  This is accomplished by providing a broad range of human resources and organizational effectiveness services. This responsibility includes the mandate to create a work environment which emphasizes a customer service approach, and enables every employee to make a valuable contribution to the agency.

As a member of the Leadership Team, this position will assess human resource needs and recommend appropriate individual and organizational development actions.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Provide policy development and strategic planning in all areas of human resources to achieve organizational effectiveness and continued improvement in processes
  • Participate in the development of the agency Strategic Plan; ensure that HR strategies are integrated into the plan and that goals are successfully achieved
  • Provide leadership for strategic development and continuous improvement of agency internal communications
  • Provide leadership and guidance in recruitment activities and staff retention strategies
  • Maintain a competitive compensation and benefits program
  • Manage employee relations by providing consultation to management and ensuring fair treatment and equal opportunities for employees
  • Provide leadership and support for the agency diversity program and affirmative action
  • Develop, coordinate, facilitate and monitor the agency-wide training and staff development program
  • Manage the Human Resources sections of the Paylocity and NOVAtime data bases in order to provide reports for analysis of agency human resources and departmental functions
  • Evaluate and upgrade existing human resources technologies needed for agency and departmental functions (applicant tracking software, online training and tracking software, performance management software).
  • Chair or serve on various agency committees and teams (Human Resources Committee of the Board of Trustees, QI Committee, Communications Team, etc.)
  • Develop and manage the HR department budget and other financial measures related to the Human Resources function.

 

SUPERVISORY REQUIREMENTS:  Supervises the departmental managers who are responsible for Benefits Administration, Employee Relations, Employment, and the coordination of Training.

 

 
Position Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  Master’s degree in Human Resources or a related field, plus a minimum of seven years human resources management level experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Management experience in a nonprofit environment is preferred.

 

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS NEEDED:  HR certification not required but a plus.

Weekly Work Hours 35-hrs  
Proposed Salary $73,900 to $96,000 yearly  
Schedule M-F: 9 to 5
