Diversity at our agency means fostering a workplace in which individual differences are recognized, appreciated, respected and responded to in ways that fully develop and utilize each person's talent and strengths.   Position Affordable Housing Compliance Specialist   Full-Time/Part-Time Full-Time   Location East Patchogue, NY   Salary   Days/Hours Monday - Friday; 9am - 5pm   Description The Affordable Compliance Specialist is responsible for maintaining compliance with Low Income Housing Tax Credits.     Duties and Responsibilities:   Adherence to all policies and procedures as set forth in Concern’s personnel manual.   Monitoring changes in LIHTC regulations and requirements and implementing changes as indicated.   Maintenance of tenant files in compliance with regulations.   Determination of financial eligibility for all new admissions into LIHTC-funded programs.   Processing all new applicants, Annual and Re-certifications and Unit Transfers in accord with HUD 4350.3 requirements and LIHTC.   Preparation of re-certification notification letters in compliance with LIHTC regulations.   Monitoring waitlists for compliance with federal regulations and requirements.   Knowledge of Federal Fair Housing Law and Americans with Disabilities Act.  Annual training in these areas is required.   Attendance at all trainings as required (including Essential Learning.) Successful completion of Assisted Housing Manager and LIHTC training, including a passing score on the exam.   Executes leases and submits reports to tax credit syndicators and funding sources as needed.   Participates in all tax credit reviews by outside entities.   Attendance at weekly supervision meetings and departmental meetings as scheduled.           Position Requirements Individual in this position should possess strong organization skills and a detail oriented approach. Strong computer literacy skills are essential to this position. Must have certification in low income housing tax credits. Knowledge of HUD requirements and accounting experience is a plus. Good verbal and written communication skills are also required.
