What We Are Looking For:

NCU is currently seeking a dynamic individual to become part of our Finance team as an Financial Planning and Analysis Manager.

This position is responsible for assisting the Director of FP&A in executing the University’s finance functions such as: developing and maintaining strong partnerships with marketing and enrollment decision makers by providing appropriate financial insights through KPI reporting, forecasting, budgeting, long range planning, return on investment analysis and other value added financial analysis for the University. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for collaborating with operational business partners to incorporate key forecast assumptions in the New Start forecast model and campaign optimization. 
  • Prepare and review variance analyses against monthly, quarterly and annual plan and forecasts and include explanations of key drivers of the differences
  • Support the preparation of the annual financial plan, including all technical tasks related to initial review, revisions and finalization
  • Work with functional leaders monthly to review financial results and to gather data to update the next forecast as appropriate
  • Maintain operating and financial updates to annual forecast
  • Perform certain weekly and month-end close procedures as necessary
  • Responsible for monthly operating statistics reports, including preparation of charts, to demonstrate trends, variances to plan, etc.
  • Prepare dashboard updates for Leadership, document the impact of current business trends and indicators as a result of updating forecast models
  • Ensure accuracy and consistency between accounting and financial reports
  • Ad hoc reporting, competitor analysis & benchmarking
  • Participate in and support special projects as directed

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has supervisory responsibility for members of the Finance team

 
Position Requirements

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of general planning and forecasting processes
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly in Excel
  • Must be able to understand and build models with assumption changes and checks and balances in Excel
  • Must possess adept problem solving skills and the ability to interface with multiple departments
  • Must be a high energy, ambitious, self-starter with the ability to multi- task and effectively manage priorities

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Masters’ degree in Business or Finance preferred; CPA preferred
  • 7+ years’ work experience focused on budgeting, reporting, and financial analysis, with the ability to condense considerable quantitative detail supporting the financial statements along with narrative information
  • 2-3 years of supervisory experience
  • Strong organizational and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Greats Plains and BI 360 knowledge and experience, a plus
  • Experience in higher education preferred.

  • Write, type and use phone system.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Good working environment with the absence of disagreeable conditions.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
